DESCRIPTION:In 2026\, the United States will commemorate its 250th anniversary\, also known as the Semiquincentennial\, marking the 250-year anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4\, 1776. \nStarting in 2026\, The Ward Melville Heritage Organization (WMHO) will be hosting events to celebrate the 250th anniversary. Stay tuned for more details\, or call WMHO 631-751-2244. \nThe Ward Melville Heritage Organization will also be participating in The Suffolk County 250th “Passport Book”. The book is now available online through Barnes and Noble Online (not the retail locations)\, Amazon\, Lulu.com\, and as a free download. It can be enjoyed on your own time and at your own pace! \n\nThe experience is FREE to the public and will allow all visitors of Stony Brook Village to immerse themselves in the quirky history and stories of the lifestyle center and some of its surrounding properties. The audio experience is obtained by scanning QR codes throughout the village and is also available at audio.stonybrookvillage.com \nCurrently\, the experience has 15 stops\, and covers the history and the stories from the Hercules Pavilion\, the Three Village Inn’s original residents\, the Country House Restaurant\, to the entire development of Stony Brook Village Center. \nIt is recommended that participants of the experience begin at Hercules Pavilion.

DESCRIPTION:Stony Brook Village’s beloved Spring Appreciation Day returns on Saturday\, April 18\, 2026\, offering a fun-filled afternoon for the whole family. This free event will feature live music\, a Mustang and Shelby car show\, a petting zoo\, and engaging activities throughout the Village. In the case of rain\, the event will be moved to Sunday\, April 19th. \nStarting at 10 AM with the Mustang and Shelby Club of Long Island Car Show and more events from 1:30PM to 3:30 PM\, visitors can enjoy a variety of entertainment and experiences\, including: \n\nSteppin’ Out Ponies & Petting Zoo(1:30 PM – 3:30 PM\, in front of D.K. Brothers): Children can interact with a variety of friendly animals.\nMustang & Shelby Club of Long Island Car Show(10 AM – 3 PM\, behind the Post Office): A spectacular display of Mustangs from 1964 to today\, including classic models like the Shelby GT500\, GT350\, and the Boss 302.
