Stony Brook, NY – As part of an ongoing series of events on diversity, the Ward Melville Heritage Organization will host the newest in that series, Greek Heritage Day, March 22, from 1 pm to 3 pm at their Educational & Cultural Center in Stony Brook Village.
A great time is sure to be had by all with authentic offerings from a variety of areas, all stemming from a country with a rich culture and customs passed down from generations. Traditional performances by St. John’s Hellenic Dancers of Blue Point will surely be a winner with the audience and their Director, Vasili Kreatsoulas will speak on the origin of the dances. There will be delicious food tastings by Mesoyios Greek-Cypriot Restaurant of Ronkonkoma, who will include offerings such as stuffed grape leaves and Greek meatballs. Village Center shops will take part in the celebration as well with baklava provided by Premiere Pastry and Greek Iced Coffee Frappes and treats from Village Coffee Market.

Special guest speakers will be Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of both Gold Coast Bank and Long Island Hotels LLC, John Tsunis, as well as Financial Adviser, Michael Christodoulou of Edward Jones Investments. Tsunis was recently awarded the prestigious Archons award for his service in the Greek Orthodox Community (the highest award given to a lay person).
