Dear Friends,

We are so grateful to have your support during the challenges of 2022. This past Spring and Summer, the Ward Melville Heritage Organization was able to bring year-long projects to fruition, because of donors like you.

You have reminded us of the words of our founder, Ward Melville, from when he unveiled his plan for the rehabilitation of Stony Brook Village: “The prime reason for such a project as we are considering, is the beauty of the result.”

Here are just a few of the results we achieved together this year: We saved the Stony Brook Grist Mill (c. 1751) from basement leaks, continued important work providing educational programs locally and nationally, restored the beloved rooster weathervane atop the flagpole, organized a lease with the Long Island Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame (LIMEHOF) to provide them with a permanent home, brought back the Summer Concert Series, and even created new free experiences such as Pop-Up Saturdays and the Stony Brook Village Audio Experience.

While we are proud of what we made happen so far in 2022, there is still work to be done. We hope you will continue to support us in the projects that the next few months and beyond bring.
