The Ward Melville Heritage Organization (WMHO) is celebrating a New Beginning this year!

The organization is hosting a two-part virtual event titled the “New Beginnings Virtual Party and Online Auction” to benefit the restoration & maintenance of the T. Bayles Minuse Mill Pond Park. This past summer Tropical Storm Isaias winds ravaged the park’s Braille engraved handrails, the borders maintaining the parks gardens, and even the walkways along the pond. ripped through the park, destroying multiple walkway including the railing for the braille garden and uprooted over a dozen trees. This was a place where memories were made for generations – families visited the ducks and birdwatched, had picnics and took special occasion photos.

Prior to the New Beginnings Virtual Party on November 12th at 6:30 p.m., guests can look for fun and unique items to bid for online in the New Beginning’s Auction. The auction will run online from Monday, October 19th until Monday, November 16th giving guests plenty of time to compete for a good cause. Auction items include exclusive east-end travel packages, rare liquor, fun experiences, and marvelous antiques.

The New Beginnings Virtual Party kicks off with a virtual toast lead by the evening’s special guest host, ABC Emmy Award Winning TV Star and President of the Explorers Club Richard Wiese. The hour long virtual party premieres as a live variety show with special guests throughout the evening including appearances by award-winning reporter for News 12 Elisa DiStefano, musical performances by America’s Got Talent Finalist Sal Valentinetti, Founder and President of the Jazz Loft Tom Manuel, DMA and his musical trio, National Headliner Comedian Rich Walker and more! Guests will be sure to put their party hats on for an array of games with prizes and a chance to win a very exciting live auction item.
