The evening brought together community leaders, supporters, and residents to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary while recognizing individuals and organizations whose dedication has made a lasting impact on the local community.

As part of this special celebration, WMHO honored the following distinguished community members and organizations for their outstanding leadership, service, and commitment to preserving and strengthening the community:

  • Dr. Robert Honkanen – Chair of Ophthalmology, Stony Brook Medicine
  • Ann Strong – Associate Real Estate Broker, Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty, and descendant of Anna Smith Strong of the Culper Spy Ring
  • Linda Margolin, Esq. – Ackerman, Pachman, Brown, Goldstein & Margolin, LLP
  • Brian Barton – Community Leader and Former Owner, TEB North Country Car Care
  • Anna Smith Strong Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution

The Garden Party served as WMHO’s annual fundraising event, with proceeds supporting the organization’s ongoing restoration, preservation, and educational initiatives at its historic and environmental properties. In honor of this year’s celebration, a portion of the net proceeds will also be donated to the Department of Ophthalmology at Stony Brook Medicine to help expand access to free vision care for individuals in need throughout the community.
